Глава 8

1 Елисей сказал женщине, сына которой он воскресил: – Уходи с семьёй и поселись, где сможешь, потому что Вечный навёл на страну голод, который будет длиться семь лет.

2 Женщина собралась и сделала, как сказал пророк. Вместе с семьёй она ушла и семь лет жила в земле филистимлян.

3 Через семь лет она вернулась из земли филистимлян и пошла к царю просить о своём доме и о земле.

4 А царь в то время беседовал с Гехази, слугой пророка, и сказал: – Расскажи мне о великих делах, которые совершил Елисей.

5 Как раз, когда Гехази рассказывал царю о том, как Елисей воскресил мёртвого, женщина, чьего сына Елисей воскресил, пришла просить царя о своём доме и о земле. Гехази сказал: – Вот это и есть та женщина, господин мой царь, а это её сын, которого воскресил Елисей.

6 Царь расспросил женщину, и она рассказала ему всё. Тогда он поручил чиновнику рассмотреть её дело, сказав ему: – Верни ей всё, что у неё было, а также все доходы от её земли, что были получены с того дня, как она покинула страну, до этого дня.

7 Елисей пришёл в Дамаск, когда Бен-Адад, царь Сирии, был болен. Когда царю доложили, что пришёл пророк,

8 он сказал Хазаилу: – Возьми с собой подарок и иди встречать пророка. Спроси через него Вечного, спроси, выздоровею ли я от этой болезни.

9 Хазаил пошёл встречать Елисея, взяв с собой в дар лучших товаров Дамаска на сорок верблюжьих поклаж. Он пришёл, встал перед ним и сказал: – Твой сын Бен-Адад, царь Сирии, послал меня спросить: «Выздоровею ли я от этой болезни?»

10 Елисей сказал: – Иди и скажи ему: «Ты обязательно выздоровеешь», но Вечный открыл мне, что на самом деле он умрёт.

11 Елисей смотрел на Хазаила не отрываясь, пока Хазаил не смутился. Тогда пророк заплакал.

12 – Почему мой господин плачет? – спросил Хазаил. – Потому что я знаю, какое зло ты причинишь исраильтянам, – ответил он. – Ты сожжёшь их крепости, юношей их убьёшь мечом, разобьёшь их младенцев о землю и порубишь их беременных женщин.

13 Хазаил сказал: – Как твой раб, который лишь пёс, сможет совершить такое дело? – Вечный открыл мне, что ты станешь царём Сирии, – ответил Елисей.

14 Тогда Хазаил ушёл от Елисея и вернулся к своему господину. Бен-Адад спросил его: – Что сказал тебе Елисей?Хазаил ответил: – Он сказал мне, что ты непременно выздоровеешь.

15 Но на другой день он взял одеяло, намочил его водой и накрыл им лицо царя, и тот умер. А Хазаил стал царём вместо него.

16 На пятом году правления исраильского царя Иорама, сына Ахава, когда Иосафат ещё был царём Иудеи, в Иудее начал царствовать Иорам, сын Иосафата.

17 Ему было тридцать два года, когда он стал царём, и правил он в Иерусалиме восемь лет.

18 Он ходил путями царей Исраила, по примеру дома Ахава, потому что женился на дочери Ахава. Он делал зло в глазах Вечного.

19 Но ради Своего раба Давуда Вечный не хотел погубить Иудею. Он обещал сохранить царство для него и для его потомков навеки.

20 Во времена Иорама Эдом восстал против власти Иудеи и поставил себе своего царя.

21 Тогда Иорам пошёл в город Цаир со всеми своими колесницами. Эдомитяне окружили его и начальников над его колесницами. Ночью он встал и пробился через кольцо врагов, а его войско бежало домой.

22 И до сих пор Эдом не покорён власти Иудеи. Ливна восстала в то же самое время.

23 Прочие события царствования Иорама и всё, что он сделал, записано в «Книге летописей царей Иудеи».

24 Иорам упокоился со своими предками и был похоронен с ними в Городе Давуда. И царём вместо него стал его сын Охозия.

25 На двенадцатом году правления исраильского царя Иорама, сына Ахава, над Иудеей начал царствовать Охозия, сын Иорама.

26 Охозии было двадцать два года, когда он стал царём, и правил он в Иерусалиме один год. Его мать звали Аталия, она была внучкой Омри, царя Исраила.

27 И так как Охозия был в родстве с домом Ахава, . то он и ходил их путями и делал зло в глазах Вечного по примеру дома Ахава.

28 Охозия ходил с Иорамом, сыном Ахава, воевать против Хазаила, царя Сирии, под Рамот Галаадский. Сирийцы ранили Иорама,

29 и он вернулся в Изреель, чтобы оправиться от ран, нанесённых ему сирийцами при Рамоте в битве с Хазаилом, царём Сирии. Тогда иудейский царь Охозия, сын Иорама, отправился в Изреель навестить Иорама, сына Ахава, потому что тот был ранен.

1 Then spoke1696 Elisha477 to the woman,802 whose834 son1121 he had restored2421 to life,2421 saying,559 Arise,6965 and go3212 you and your household,1004 and sojourn1481 wherever834 you can sojourn:1481 for the LORD3068 has called7121 for a famine;7458 and it shall also1571 come935 on the land776 seven7651 years.8141

2 And the woman802 arose,6965 and did6213 after the saying1697 of the man376 of God:430 and she went3212 with her household,1004 and sojourned1481 in the land776 of the Philistines6430 seven7651 years.8141

3 And it came1961 to pass at the seven7651 years'8141 end,7097 that the woman802 returned7725 out of the land776 of the Philistines:6430 and she went3318 forth3318 to cry6817 to the king4428 for her house1004 and for her land.7704

4 And the king4428 talked1696 with Gehazi1522 the servant5288 of the man376 of God,430 saying,559 Tell5608 me, I pray4994 you, all3605 the great1419 things that Elisha477 has done.6213

5 And it came1961 to pass, as he was telling5608 the king4428 how834 he had restored2421 a dead4191 body to life,2421 that, behold,2009 the woman,802 whose834 son1121 he had restored2421 to life,2421 cried6817 to the king4428 for her house1004 and for her land.7704 And Gehazi1522 said,559 My lord,113 O king,4428 this2063 is the woman,802 and this2088 is her son,1121 whom834 Elisha477 restored2421 to life.2421

6 And when the king4428 asked7592 the woman,802 she told5608 him. So the king4428 appointed5414 to her a certain officer,5631 saying,559 Restore7725 all3605 that was hers, and all3605 the fruits8393 of the field7704 since the day3117 that she left5800 the land,776 even until5704 now.6258

7 And Elisha477 came935 to Damascus;1834 and Benhadad1130 the king4428 of Syria758 was sick;2470 and it was told5046 him, saying,559 The man376 of God430 is come935 here.2008

8 And the king4428 said559 to Hazael,2371 Take3947 a present4503 in your hand,3027 and go,3212 meet7125 the man376 of God,430 and inquire1875 of the LORD3068 by him, saying,559 Shall I recover2421 of this2088 disease?2483

9 So Hazael2371 went3212 to meet7125 him, and took3947 a present4503 with him, even of every3605 good2898 thing of Damascus,1834 forty705 camels'1581 burden,4853 and came935 and stood5975 before6440 him, and said,559 Your son1121 Benhadad1130 king4428 of Syria758 has sent7971 me to you, saying,559 Shall I recover2421 of this2088 disease?2483

10 And Elisha477 said559 to him, Go,3212 say559 to him, You may certainly recover:2421 however, the LORD3068 has showed7200 me that he shall surely die.4191

11 And he settled5975 his countenance6440 steadfastly,7760 until5704 he was ashamed:954 and the man376 of God430 wept.1058

12 And Hazael2371 said,559 Why4069 weeps1058 my lord?113 And he answered,559 Because3588 I know3045 the evil7451 that you will do6213 to the children1121 of Israel:3478 their strong4013 holds4013 will you set7971 on fire,784 and their young970 men will you slay2026 with the sword,2719 and will dash7376 their children,5768 and rip1234 up their women with child.2030

13 And Hazael2371 said,559 But what,4100 is your servant5650 a dog,3611 that he should do6213 this2088 great1419 thing?1697 And Elisha477 answered,559 The LORD3068 has showed7200 me that you shall be king4428 over5921 Syria.758

14 So he departed3212 from Elisha,477 and came935 to his master;113 who said559 to him, What4100 said559 Elisha477 to you? And he answered,559 He told559 me that you should surely recover.2421

15 And it came1961 to pass on the morrow,4283 that he took3947 a thick cloth,4346 and dipped2881 it in water,4325 and spread6566 it on5921 his face,6440 so that he died:4191 and Hazael2371 reigned4427 in his stead.8478

16 And in the fifth2568 year8141 of Joram3141 the son1121 of Ahab256 king4428 of Israel,3478 Jehoshaphat3092 being then king4428 of Judah,3063 Jehoram3088 the son1121 of Jehoshaphat3092 king4428 of Judah3063 began to reign.4427

17 Thirty7970 and two8147 years8141 old1121 was he when he began to reign;4427 and he reigned4427 eight8083 years8141 in Jerusalem.3389

18 And he walked3212 in the way1870 of the kings4428 of Israel,3478 as did6213 the house1004 of Ahab:256 for the daughter1323 of Ahab256 was his wife:802 and he did6213 evil7451 in the sight5869 of the LORD.3068

19 Yet the LORD3068 would14 not destroy7843 Judah3063 for David1732 his servant's5650 sake,4616 as he promised559 him to give5414 him always3605 3117 a light,5216 and to his children.1121

20 In his days3117 Edom123 revolted6586 from under8478 the hand3027 of Judah,3063 and made a king4428 over5921 themselves.1992

21 So Joram3141 went5674 over5674 to Zair,6811 and all3605 the chariots7393 with him: and he rose6965 by night,3915 and smote5221 the Edomites130 which compassed5437 him about,413 and the captains8269 of the chariots:7393 and the people5971 fled5127 into their tents.168

22 Yet Edom123 revolted6586 from under8478 the hand3027 of Judah3063 to this2088 day.3117 Then227 Libnah3841 revolted6586 at the same1931 time.6256

23 And the rest3499 of the acts1697 of Joram,3141 and all3605 that he did,6213 are they not written3789 in the book5612 of the chronicles1697 3117 of the kings4428 of Judah?3063

24 And Joram3141 slept7901 with his fathers,1 and was buried6912 with his fathers1 in the city5892 of David:1732 and Ahaziah274 his son1121 reigned4427 in his stead.8478

25 In the twelfth8147 6240 year8141 of Joram3141 the son1121 of Ahab256 king4428 of Israel3478 did Ahaziah274 the son1121 of Jehoram3088 king4428 of Judah3063 begin to reign.4427

26 Two8147 and twenty6242 years8141 old1121 was Ahaziah274 when he began to reign;4427 and he reigned one259 year8141 in Jerusalem.3389 And his mother's517 name8034 was Athaliah,6271 the daughter1323 of Omri6018 king4428 of Israel.3478

27 And he walked3212 in the way1870 of the house1004 of Ahab,256 and did6213 evil7451 in the sight5869 of the LORD,3068 as did the house1004 of Ahab:256 for he was the son2860 in law2859 of the house1004 of Ahab.256

28 And he went3212 with Joram3141 the son1121 of Ahab256 to the war4421 against5973 Hazael2371 king4428 of Syria758 in Ramothgilead;7433 and the Syrians761 wounded5221 Joram.3141

29 And king4428 Joram3141 went7725 back7725 to be healed7495 in Jezreel3157 of the wounds4347 which834 the Syrians761 had given5221 him at Ramah,7414 when he fought3898 against Hazael2371 king4428 of Syria.758 And Ahaziah274 the son1121 of Jehoram3088 king4428 of Judah3063 went3381 down3381 to see7200 Joram3141 the son1121 of Ahab256 in Jezreel,3157 because3588 he was sick.2470
